Michigan Retailers Association (MRA) is pleased to announce Victoria Veda as its new Vice President, Communications beginning Sept. 3, 2024.
Veda comes to MRA with an extensive background supporting Michigan’s retailers and small businesses through work in marketing and brand consulting. Raised in an entrepreneurial, small-town Michigan household, she has deep roots in business, growth strategy, and community engagement. Having worked at a variety of consulting agencies servicing local, regional, national, and global organizations with marketing, communications, and brand strategy, she’s found that her passion lies most with the retailers of the Great Lakes State.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the MRA team and getting to know our members and their stories. I’m most passionate about building community and driving engagement with our retailers and consumers throughout Michigan,” Veda said. “I’ve lived and worked in several states across the country, but there’s something about Michigan and its retailers that has always called me back home. Michigan’s retailers are a huge part of what makes this state great.”
Veda has previously worked as Director, Go-to-Market Services & Advisory at Lift Enablement, a RevOps agency and HubSpot Partner, as Executive Strategist at BS+Co., a marketing consultancy supporting B2B and B2C brands, in a variety of roles at Elevate Marketing Co., a Lansing-based agency providing digital marketing services for Michigan businesses, and as Digital Marketing Strategist at American 1 Credit Union in Jackson, MI.
She first worked with MRA in 2019 as a contractor, supporting a campaign for MRA’s credit card processing services, and again later on developing additional campaigns for contactless pay and the Buy Nearby program.
“We are delighted to welcome Victoria to the Michigan Retailers Association team,” said William J. Hallan, President and CEO of the Association. “Victoria’s passion for retail, marketing expertise, and collaborative approach will be an asset for both the Association and our members for many years to come.”
Looking ahead, Veda will be working to drive member engagement and bring more awareness and visibility to the programs and services MRA offers members and consumers in Michigan, including Buy Nearby Weekend, the annual shop-local event held to promote Michigan businesses and to encourage shoppers to “Keep Their Money in Michigan,” coming up October 4-6.
