LANSING – The Michigan Retailers Association Board of Directors has re-elected all officers for 2015-16, following the membership’s election of four incumbents to the board at the Association’s 2015 Annual Meeting.
Serving as officers through August 2016 are:
• Chair Dan Marshall, president of Marshall Music Co., headquartered in Lansing;
• MRA President and CEO James P. Hallan;
• Vice Chair Orin Mazzoni, Jr., owner of Orin Jewelers in Garden City and Northville;
• Treasurer Peter Sobelton, owner-partner in several retail property companies and former owner of two retail businesses in Birmingham;
• Secretary William J. Hallan, MRA Executive Vice President, COO and General Counsel.
Re-elected by the membership to three-year terms on the board were:
• Brian Ducharme, vice president and general manager of the Mobility Division of AT&T for Michigan, Indiana and Ohio;
• Joe McCurry, an executive with Credit Card Group and retired Detroit district general manager for Sears;
• Larry Mullins, owner of Brandon Tire & Auto Service Center in Ortonville;
• Peter Sobelton (see above).
In addition, the MRA board re-elected two incumbent outside directors of the Michigan Retailers Services, Inc., (MRS) Board of Directors. MRS is the wholly owned subsidiary of MRA that provides business services to the Association’s members.
Elected to one-year terms were:
• Bo Brines, owner and president of Little Forks Outfitters in downtown Midland;
• Bill Golden, co-president of Golden Shoes, a family owned and operated shoe store in downtown Traverse City.
Michigan Retailers Association represents nearly 5,000 member businesses and their more than 15,000 stores and websites. MRA has been a trusted business resource for 75 years and provides cost-saving membership services such as expert credit card processing, business and personal insurances, legislative advocacy and discounts on shipping and prescription drugs.
