This month’s Retailer offers stories about three of MRA’s annual programs: the upcoming Retail Education Conference, the Retailer of the Year awards and the Michigan Centennial Retailers program. Throughout the year, information about these events and others is available on our website, retailers.com, in the section called Education and Events.

The communications team uses this area of the website, in conjunction with the Retailer, to help members stay informed about the industry, trade shows and MRA events. The Education and Events section (second from the right on the home page) provides the following links:

Calendar: lists holidays, MRA events such as board meetings, and area trade shows and other business- or retail-related events with locations and contact information.

• Seminars: lists MRA-sponsored educational conferences and seminars, with dates and contact information.

Ask Michigan Retailers: gathers in one place all the “Ask Michigan Retailers” columns that have appeared in the Retailer as well as other publications.

Foundation Scholarships: provides information about MRA’s scholarship program, including deadline dates and a link to an online application form. The page also links to a list of members who have contributed to the Michigan Retailers Foundation.

Retailer of the Year: provides information about MRA’s Retailer of the Year Awards, including nomination deadline dates and a link to a nomination form. The page also lists past award recipients.

Centennial Retailers: provides information about MRA’s Centennial Retailers program, including deadline dates and a link to an online nomination form. The page also lists all 80 of the Centennial retailers the program has identified so far.
